Preparation for LASIK Surgery

Before undergoing LASIK, you will need to meet with an ophthalmologist to discuss the procedure in detail. During the initial consultation, your medical history will be reviewed, and your eyes will undergo a comprehensive evaluation.

Tests you will need to conduct include:

Eye pressure measurement
Corneal thickness measurement
Corneal mapping
Pupil dilation
Refraction

If your test results are acceptable, an appointment for the LASIK procedure will be scheduled.

Preparation guidelines:

Avoid wearing gas-permeable contact lenses for at least three weeks before your eye assessment.
For other types of contact lenses, refrain from wearing them for at least three days before the evaluation.
Bring your glasses to the clinic so the ophthalmologist can check your eye prescription.
On the day of the surgery, eat a light meal and take all prescribed medications before arriving at the clinic.

During the LASIK Eye Surgery Procedure

Before the procedure, anaesthetic eye drops will be applied to numb your eye. A femtosecond laser is used to create a very thin flap in the cornea. This flap is lifted, allowing the laser to reshape the essential tissue of the cornea. The flap is then repositioned to ensure quick recovery.

After the LASIK Surgery Procedure
